April 6th is the day we celebrate International Asexuality Day. Asexuality refers to a sexual orientation in which someone does not feel sexual attraction to any gender or person. As with all sexualities, asexuality can and does exist on a spectrum. How one ace person chooses to identify may not reflect someone else’s experience or definition.
It’s a common misconception that kink, or BDSM must have a sexual component; this is not true. There are a myriad of meanings and emotions involved in the lifestyle beyond a sexual nature, and there is a place in our community for everyone. It is also assumed that all asexual individuals do not have sex, which is also not true for everyone; sex may mean something else to them entirely.
INDIGEO VOLO would like to not only acknowledge but appreciate all of our ace community members. We believe that asexuality is just as valid and beautiful as any other orientation, and that people all along the sexuality spectrum can enjoy consensual kink.
